“It’s a sonic bed of bliss. So innovative. No one is doing sh*t like this... I’ve never heard hyperpop this spiritual, or opera this breakbeaty, or ambient this progressive. I am admittedly NOT a classical nut, but the only thing better than jazz is when it’s combined with classical sensibility... their voice is angelic and so dynamic and the way they project and all the articulations of their voice have me floored. I’ve heard a ton of opera and 10,000 singers and I can honestly say they have something painfully special here. The good kind of pain, despite it being uncomfortable to bear, because it’s so intense. I kinda feel uncomfortable when I hear music this good to be honest. Like how am I supposed to relax when it’s doing all this f*cked up sh*t to my inner world, most of which I can’t even understand.”

zofia is combining experimental electronic music, sacred music, hyperpop, and opera to create what they call “post-hyperpopera”
spawning their artistry from the DIY scene in Chicago, zofia channels ethereal sounds and devoted rhythms to explore existential emergence, mysticism, nonconsensual societal constructs, and our place (or lack thereof) in late stage capitalism.
zofia grew up homeschooled in Southwest Florida. they spent their days singing early church music and performing as a classical vocalist to make their way out of the cycle of poverty. now, as they are moving through life developing their own sense of reality, zofia uses audio production and extended vocal technique featuring soaring harmonies and unconventional textural mood shifts to share their intensely-felt calling.

an up-and-coming DIY producer, philosopher, vocalist, and engineer, zofia is currently interning at the Women’s Audio Mission in SF, CA. zofia is intentionally anticipating the release of their first EP after a thrilling EP tease at the Empty Bottle in December 2024
The first zofia EP follows zofia’s shifty and light-filled mind-palace through lived-in frustrations and devotions towards capitalism, death, spirituality, ego, and synesthetic architectural visions. zofia is transmogrifying with the expansion of the universe, trying to gracefully hold on to what they feel in their immediate grasp before the awareness kicks in that everything is already nonbeing.
